A few good questions

Come again?

The useful bits about your new little radio.

Did Apple really kill Walkie-Talkie?

Yes. Apple discontinued Walkie-Talkie in watchOS 27. The obituary is on Apple’s website. Wrist Relay is an independent app. We just liked talking to our wrists.

Do we both need an Apple Watch?

No. Use Wrist Relay on Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad or Mac. Both people need the app and a confirmed friend connection.

Does it work without internet?

Internet is required for sign-in, invitations and coordinating friend conversations. Audio uses a direct connection when available, with relay fallback. Wrist Relay does not replace an off-grid radio.

Does Wrist Relay record conversations?

No. The service relays live audio and does not store speech audio.

How do monthly minutes work?

Your monthly allowance, usage and reset date are in Plan & Usage. Premium makes your local friend speech free. Free and Plus-only speakers use their own minutes locally. My Devices stays free locally, and supported direct internet P2P and listening use no minutes. Relay and TURN use minutes. Minutes reset each month and don’t roll over. See the talk allowance terms.

What am I buying with Premium or Plus?

Premium is a one-time feature purchase, not lifetime server hosting. Its included metered talk allowance lasts while the service is offered. Plus renews through Apple until canceled and does not include Premium features. Explore Premium & Plus or read the purchase terms.

Can strangers contact me?

Friend conversations require a mutually accepted connection. There are no public rooms, public directory or random matching. Mute or block people in the app whenever you need to.

For you and your people

Keep your
inside jokes inside.

You choose who gets through. Friend connections require both people to agree, and a talk request waits for you to join.
